Templates of turnouts are printed full size from design program (Atlas trains - RTS 7.0), and glued into place with diluted white glue. They are in final location. This aids in laying out track. Turnouts are installed first, then connected using flex-track.

Preliminary logging siding. Decision was made later to make siding even with lower level. Siding section in background was left at original height with road added for access to top.

Cliff with rock castings in place. The castings were made with rubber molds. Large pieces were cut and rotated to give variety. This section will be stained and highlighted later. Washes made from water based acrylics will be used to color the cliff.

Logging spur secttion 1. Track is laid and ballasted. As described elsewhere, logging siding was lowered to be even with mainline lower level. Because of lightweight rail and trestles, only Shay locomotive is used for switching operations.

Sanding spur built up. Sections of foam are interlocked rather than all vertical seams lining up, making them stronger. Layers are glued with acrylic latex caulk. Gaps will be covered by fascia when installed later.
